Experienced information, design and technology manager and coach
Fort Wayne, Indiana Area
I help people tell their stories.
Making the complex understandable -- with 19 years of editing, design and management experience in print, broadcast and the Internet. Here are the six aspects of my job I enjoy the most:
* Production coordinator: Manage 10-person design and copy desk. Work with pre-press personnel to manage printing and production processes and meet deadlines with high quality. Manage news space budget.
* Marketing and advertising liaison: Work with marketing department and Claritas data to shape branding and content strategies. Create ads aligned with marketing goals.
* Technology trainer: Taught entire newsroom how to use new production system, after simplifying user interface and creating all training materials. Continue to solve technology issues as they arise.
* Book editor: Managed print shop, designer, photo editor and contributors to produce glossy-page, retail-ready book on the 1982 Fort Wayne flood.
* Art and graphics editor: Oversee creation of charts and maps to ensure precision.
* Audio engineer: Write, produce and mix news and features for local radio.
