He has recently founded Hull Digital, Kingston Upon Hull's technology community, which has grown rapidly in 2009, with over 130 members and monthly events attracting speakers and media interest.

He is on the steering group for the Yorkshire and Humber IT network, and works closely with RDAs to promote technology and business in the region.

Jon speaks regularly as a technology commentator on BBC and independent radio, and is works closely with the local ISP and teleco in the area, as well as Hull Forward and Hull City Council to promote technology, connectivity and business growth in the region.

Previously, he worked for Smith & Nephew Healthcare holding various senior positions. He launched their new brand in the UK and was a member of the global web development team.
