The company manufactures and sells spill containment systems for lead-acid batteries which are mainly used for standby power. Industries that use these batteries range from electric utilities to telecommunications to data centers. The company is an industry leader in that it has various certifications that competitors do not have, including Underwriter's Laboratories certifications and being registered to ISO 9001 standards. My main responsibilities include but are not limited to: generating qualified leads for our Sales team; updating and improving various Marketing materials; creating newsletters and press releases to be distributed internationally; conducting market research both domestically and internationally; preparing for trade show and conference events; and finding opportunities for educational presentations and white paper submissions.

As a Staff Writer for Entertainment Today, I chose writing assignments that interested me. I mainly reviewed music and movies for the few months I was there and had several stories featured on the magazine's front cover. Highlights included attending press junkets for "Blood Diamond" and the highly touted indie film "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints." I had a chance to interview Robert Downey Jr. and Channing Tatum in an intimate setting and participated in a press conference with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Connelly. I also was able to interview and write two features on the highly popular indie rock band We Are Scientists.
