My specialty is helping businesses use software to gain a competitive advantage. This fuels my never-ending quest to find software tools that make this goal as painless and effective as possible. I wrote a book ("Igniting the Phoenix: A New Vision for IT") in 2003 that put forward a vision supporting this goal, a vision which is now becoming a reality as Web 2.0.
"I'm a avid follower of Jonathan's thoughts & body of work. When starting down the current path of Web 2.0 three years ago, Jonathan's book & interviews captured exactly what is now transpiring in terms of business transformation. I have quoted Jonathan on many, many occasions; his insights into understanding emerging key business issues both from the IT perspective and the line-of-business have been truly visionary. How much so? I've based my current emerging technology efforts around the principles Jonathan laid out - and glad I did!" - Rod Smith, IBM Fellow and IBM Vice President of Emerging Technologies.
