Ever since my days at the National Institutes of Health in 1990, I have been interested in the concept of using microorganisms as a mass scale fuel source. I studied the concept as a side interest throughout the 1990s and early 2000's and became full-time engaged in this industry during 2006, because microorganisms like algae can be used to solve the feedstock issues of the biofuels industry.
