Jonathan King brings over twenty years of experience in the live and recorded music industry. Performing in clubs from Orange County CA. to Tokyo Japan, Jonathan King has performed over 2,300 individual concerts, parties, and shows.
While learning from the top producers in the industry, such as the legendary producer Leon Sylvers, (of " The Sylvers" and Shalimar" fame) and the Dust Brothers, (producers of "Tone Loc" , "The Beastie Boys", "Young MC" and "Beck"), Jonathan developed an ear for what makes people dance.
Jonathan was called upon by one of the top production teams in the industry (The Dust Brothers) to add his specific and unique sound to one of their most successful projects; (Beck "Where it's At").
In the summer of 2004, Jonathan began a collaboration with LA area house producer David Hopper. Working on various projects such as "Brothers of Soul" , "Soul Provider" and various house music projects lad to the inevitable formation of the production duo "metro local". Jonathan brings all his years of production in the hip-hop and R&B dance fields to combine with the talents of David Hopper in the styles of House, Club, and Breaks.
Jonathan's voice is a deep baritone, especially well suited for moody soulful songs as well as the highest energy dance music. Jonathan performs as a solo artist as well as his involvement in Soul Provider.
While still performing in clubs and writing and producing hip hop and house, Jonathan is available to produce individual projects and remixes.

In 2009 Jonathan was the principal keyboardist on remixes by DJ David Hopper for artists such as Adam White, and Israelites on the Paul Oakenfold label Perfecto Digital. Jonathan also produced remixes for other artists soon to be released including the highly anticipated release of Canadian artist Sule's "Flyin High".

Goals for the immediate future include a full length album on Jonathan King. A Soul, Funk and High Energy Dance album.

This year metro local has created tracks used in many of the top television shows nationally and internationally such as "Oprah," "Larry King Live" and "Access Hollywood" just to name a few, as well as providing musical content for the theatrical release "Contradictions of the Heart" , produced by Dawn Carter (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) and Terrah Bennett Smith (Bennettfive Productions) and directed by Walter Allen Bennett Jr. (The Steve Harvey Show , In the House). Starring Clifton Powell , Wendy Raquel Robinson and Christopher B Duncan.
