Librarian / Information Specialist / Research Consultant
Portland, Oregon Area
I am a recent graduate from Drexel University's iSchool with a Masters in Library and Information Sciences. Completing the program in a distance format allowed me to maintain work in a public library where I applied these specialized skills on a daily basis. I have since worked in public, academic and special library environments and feel that my education and work experience make me comfortable accommodating the diverse information needs of each community of users.
I am excited about the field of Library and Information Sciences as the careful balance between tradition and transition provides for an innovative and rapidly changing work environment. Rapidly changing and improving technologies allow for revamping the way libraries provide services to their clients and I actively participate in this changing environment by passing along my technological knowledge to those willing to learn.
Knowledge of ContentDM content management system, Photoshop, OCLC ILLiad, Sirsi Workflows. Experience using Dublin Core, Thesaurus for Graphic Images, LCSH and AACR2 cataloging rules.
Experience providing library services to diverse populations in terms of age, race and information literacy. Policy enforcement, supervision of student workers.
