One of nineteen recently laid off by the Bishop Museum, which restructured due to the economy. Worked with some great people there, and now taking the opportunity to see what's next.
A dedicated and creative public speaker and writer with more than a decade of experience communicating with large and small audiences in live and recorded settings. Demonstrated ability to express and summarize complex ideas in an understandable manner. Able to improvise and adapt material to audience tastes and interests thus fostering a deeper connection with audience and customers.
Proficiency in audio/video editing, copywriting/editing for broadcast, graphic design for web presentations, script formatting and story construction.

Conducted planetarium presentations for nearly 1,000 Japanese visitors per month. Produced and hosted monthly podcasts and operated the planetarium telescope for nightly visitors. Presented six different 30 – 60 minute programs daily for audiences of all ages. Authored monthly sky map for the advertising publication and the public. Trained new hires to conduct various planetarium programs.
Assembled audio for Japanese translation of various science programs and conducted presentations.
When competing First Friday art exhibits in downtown Honolulu caused a decline in attendance at monthly first Friday night planetarium shows, developed, produced and hosted a podcast aimed at a more technically savvy population. As a result, attendance increased 2% over the one year run of the podcast. Positive feedback and interaction from planetarium visitors increased significantly.
During evening events, dim walkway lighting posed potential safety issues for planetarium visitors. After discussing the matter with museum management as well as the Grounds Crew/Security, installed own personal equipment to solve lighting problems in the interim to ensure visitors were not inconvenienced or injured until corrective action could be taken.
Mechanical and electrical issues periodically prevented shows from running on schedule. Demonstrated flexibility by presenting the portions of the program that did not require these resources until maintenance crews were able to repair the problems, thus ensuring customer satisfaction despite technical difficulties.

Frontline floor work explaining the use of a specialized audio tour device during summer long Egyptian exhibit, interacting with upwards of 500+ visitors a day. Onsite technical support of audio devices, jury rigging malfunctioning pieces to meet customer demand.
