Hi! I'm John...a...musician, educator & entrepreneur.
I LOVE music...it feeds & soothes the soul! I studied percussion and music education while completing my BSBA in business management from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. The first 15 years of my career were spent in banking, sales and HR management. Those years provided a great foundation for my next career.
Following my entrepreneurial spirit, I wanted to pursue two of my life's passions...music and health & wellness. In 2003, I left a corporate HR manager position with Home Depot to start my own business.
Today, I own a music studio on the Port of Kenosha and the beautiful Lake Michigan shore in Kenosha, WI. Stolfe's Portside Percussion Studio provides workshops, clinics, drumline & percussion ensemble instruction throughout the Midwest. I proudly endorse Vic Firth sticks and mallets and I am a member of the Vic Firth Education Team.
Utilizing previous professional experiences, my studio also offers leadership/small business/personal development coaching for musicians & entrepreneurs.
An advocate for school music programs, I also teach at several schools in S.E. Wisconsin and Illinois.
I am the Marching Band Assistant Director - Percussion, Percussion Specialist, Jazz Band Director and Pit Orchestra Director for Antioch Community HS in Antioch, IL.
