Volunteered with the Temple University office for disabled students. This was a highly rewarding experience and gave me a better understanding of the challenges faced by disabled Americans.
While in school, I worked 20+ hours per week while also maintaining a full course load. I spent my summers working in warehouses as a forklift operator, at Tasty Baking Company and for Saro Construction as a commercial roofer (all high paying jobs at the time!). Each job was a means to help pay for tuition and living expenses in during the school year. I can proudly say that I paid for my entire education (including living expenses) by myself.
