Prior to commencing his professional career John Paul studied architecture at De Montfort University (under graduate) and Kingston University (post graduate) where he gained his Diploma in Architecture with Distinction in 1993 for his studio based design work and written thesis. Prior to this an award with distinction had not been given by the school since 1988.

Before founding ocdarchitecture in 2005 John Paul spent the first 13 years of his professional career working as a designer, senior and associate architect in a number of well respected London and Berlin based practices, continuing to pursue throughout the project lifecycle creatively conceived and rigorously implemented design solutions.

Broad ranging experience in practice has ensured involvement in a number of different private/public market sectors and building types including: residential, education, mixed use retail, office, industrial conversion, conservation and listed buildings. Project construction values have ranged from as little as �700K to in excess of �350million.

Design involvement with these projects has included early stage competition, masterplan and feasibility analysis through to full delivery for handover and client occupation of individual building projects.

John Paul’s Specialties:

OCD architecture can provide a broad range of professional services including preliminary project advice, regular consultant services, full architectural and masterplanning services, project management, key referrals and consultant team assembly.

The company is also interested in collaborative work with other architects, designers, funding partners, landowners and developers as a vehicle for creating joint venture partnerships or flexible professional associations.
