Served as Engagement Manager for the team of 29 AI professionals involved in major hurricane Katrina/Rita engagements throughout the region, including the City of New Orleans, City of Slidell, Port of New Orleans, Mississippi State Port at Gulfport, New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board, West Jefferson Hospital, Audubon Nature Institute in Louisiana, Hancock County, Jackson County, City of Pascagoula, Port of Pascagoula and the Port of Port Arthur and Jefferson County, Texas. The total damages being assessed by Adjusters International for these clients totals over $1 billion.
9-11 World Trade Center Terrorist Attack
Selected as the lead consultant for recovery efforts by the New York & New Jersey Port Authority, owners of the 16-acre World Trade Center site. Marini’s understanding of the complex nature of the FEMA grant process allowed him to advise the Port Authority management to a successful recovery of over one-half billion dollars. Additionally the project detailed more than $100 million in 404 Hazard Mitigation funds.
Oklahoma City Bombing
Named to the Governor’s Task Force on Damage Assessment following the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Adjusters International completed the preliminary damage assessment to more than 320 buildings in a two-week period. The total estimated impact to the City was $652 million. This engagement directly displayed Adjusters International’s ability to mobilize professionals to meet stringent timeframes and assess damage in an Applicant’s critical time of need.
Marini specializes in public entities and the FEMA grant process, including eligibility, allowability, and hazard mitigation, as well as the integration of insurance claims with the FEMA process. He has been involved in the management of Adjusters International's Hurricane Operations, with leadership experience ranging from Hurricane Andrew in 1992 to hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma in 2005 and the Midwest floods of 2008.
