Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry
Greater Los Angeles Area
I am an associate clinical professor of psychiatry, supervising resident physicians and medical students in the emergency psychiatry service. In addition, I enjoy doing both psychotherapy and medication management for patients with depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia in my office based practice. I also serve as the medical director of a UCLA research program for patients with schizophrenia.
I am very experienced with using mobile technology in the practice of medicine. I write a technology column called 'Tech Advsor' in the magazine Primary Psychiatry (www.primarypsychiatry.com) and one called 'Connections' in Psychiatric News. In addition, I am the past president and now Gores Informatics Advocate of the American Association for Technology in Psychiatry (www.techpsych.org). I am also the Physician Editor in Chief of MD Netguide.
I present every year at the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting and other meetings to teach technology to health professionals. My goals are to help my colleagues in the use of technology in the practice of healthcare via speaking engagements, curbside consults, or contact via e-mail.
