1995 — November 2008 (13 years )
For the final two of my 13 years at The Star-Ledger, I was the editor responsible for expanding the newspaper's presence on the Web and finding new ways of gathering and distributing local news and information. Key projects included building and managing a continuous news desk and training a staff of 330 in blogging, video and other multimedia skills; developing hyperlocal sites in Morristown and Newark; establishing the pharmaceutical industry niche site Pharmalot.com; and launching Ledger Live, a popular webcast. In earlier roles at the The Star-Ledger, I edited the Sunday and Monday papers and the Sunday Perspective section, and served as a foreign correspondent and national political correspondent.
