The film and TV production is what I love. From 1986 through to 2006 I worked as a Film Production Auditor working on 43 large and small film/TV productions (I worked for Ron Howard twice). You can find me on IMDb.
I have developed an expertise in budgeting, cost reporting, dealing with bond companies, managing contracts of every description, working with producers, production managers and studio executives to ensure the production was produced on time and on budget. Some studios and bond companies (for example, Disney and Film Finances) rely heavily on the Film Production Auditor, in some cases trusting and demanding action from my position over anyone elses.
After returning from a Disney feature film production in South Africa (summer of 2006) I took on the position of VP Operations for Canada for a major payroll service, increasing the sales stats by 60% in a year. I loved the extroversion that offered me, especially dealing face-to-face with independent producers. It gave me a great deal of confidence to know that I was more knowledgeable than many of them in many basic areas.
Now that I am currently working with an active independent producer I am again reminded that my 20+ years of experience is making a huge difference for him.
So, my goal is to work as a film/TV Production Executive at some level - preferably more in the area of production than finance.
My specialty is in the area of training and smoothing over upsets amongst people of various temperaments. I have a several articles and a few courses/seminars which I have delivered, as well as a book "Walk The Talk". I sell the book on the internet and it is doing well. See www.talkfilm.biz

I self-publish a book, "Walk The Talk" for novice producers, directors and any other film production personnel interested in 'Directing the Money' during film production. The University of Southern California (Peter Stark Producers program) has it as required reading for their graduate students. The University of Tampa will be using the book and workshop in some capacity as well in their film studies program. I also deliver related workshops on managing film productions from the perspective of 'Directing the Money'. I am currently delivering a series of workshops based out of Detroit, MI.

Working with an active independent film producer (Jay Firestone) reorganizing his financial and operational sytems, including the development of new projects and a fresh internet site. Most of my 'hat' is related to anything that affects the financial inflow and outflow, including the managing of the current operations, collections of past licensed product, preparing corporate financial statements, overseeing the development of new productions and the post-production on a $20Mil mini-series sold to NBC, France and the UK.

In charge of the Canadian expansion and delivery of entertainment payroll services and software licensing. The market was solely the film/TV/commercial film production business. I had increased the payroll processed by 60% with excellent reviews; however, the US parent allegedly evaded taxes and mishandled the bank's funds, creating turmoil throughout the company. I left to join Jay Firestone's independent film production company in Jan/2008.
