Upon the merger of Gartmore & Natwest Investment Management, the enlarged business urgently needed to unify on a common set of administration systems. John was engaged in the key leadership role as the Programme Manager heading this sizeable undertaking.
The programme was set a demanding timetable and set of objectives. It was determined that the in-house infrastructure of both companies was to be replaced with new third-party systems. In addition, new sets of business practices and processes had to be devised and implemented for the newly-merged functions. Likewise, over 100 system interfaces had to be built/re-developed and tested.
