Information organizer and Web publisher
Greater Milwaukee Area
I work to connect people with information. My Web site covers Internet and World Wide Web reference information, tutorials about Internet use and development, selected city information, and several niche topics of my interest. I earn revenue from advertising and affiliate programs based on this content.
My Internet information efforts date back to 1992, and my writing includes published academic journal articles, chapters, magazine articles, and books covering HTML, Java, and computer-mediated communication. I have given presentations about the Internet and online communication to a variety of audiences worldwide and have taught college-level courses in computer science, expository writing, computer-mediated communication, and creative writing. I developed software and graphical user interfaces to analyze requirements for aircraft missions at Boeing's military division. My poetry has been published in literary magazines including Mid-American Review, Sou'wester, Passages North, and others. My freelance digital photography of city scenes in Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago has been used by several organizations for print and online display.
Born in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and after living in Kansas, Wisconsin, and upstate New York, I presently live in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
My present goal is to work for greater quality in my online publishing efforts and to strive for deeper insight into the essential nature of the World Wide Web.
