John Cadengo's Experience
Co-Founder, Lead Developer
BoxOut Development LLC
January 2011 – Present (1 year 5 months) New York, NY
Began my own startup company with some friends. Our major product, Dash, is a mobile application that makes personalized recommendations for eating out based on analysis of restaurant data from food review sites and social networking platforms. Created my very own API, and currently working on releasing an iPhone app.
Web Developer
Modest Peach
December 2011 – January 2012 (2 months) New York, NY
Created an e-commerce site for clients based on mockups in photoshop by a designer. Built the shopping cart on top of a widely used framework, but added several unique features such as custom sorting, pagination, order tracking, shipping rate tables, sharing, and a more streamlined checkout process.
Lead Developer
Snapstacks
March 2011 – July 2011 (5 months) New York, NY
Collaborated with a designer and junior developer to create and submit our first iPhone app. Snapstacks, which had accumulated nearly 10,000 downloads, aggregated relevant and popular photos from multiple sources including Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, and Picplz. Learned the ups and downs of working with various APIs, IDEs, version control systems, and analytics.
Computer Projects Consultant
UCSD Medical Center
Educational Institution; 5001-10,000 employees; Hospital & Health Care industry
June 2009 – January 2011 (1 year 8 months) San Diego, CA
Migrated archaic databases containing laboratory data, test results, and hospital records into a newer, more reliable platform. Ensured data integrity was maintained through extensive testing, and offered advice to secure a payment process for membership on a medical society website.
