Marketing and Business Development Pro for Online Media
San Francisco Bay Area
Hello!
Thanks for showing an interest and reading my bio. The tech community usually calls me “Joey” and I can be found on most social applications as "joeywan." I am actively involved in the Silicon Valley tech community and enjoy contributing to the cutting edge ideas that come out of the Valley.
Since December 2006, I have been the Business Development Manager for leading tech publishing network, Giga Omni Media. The GigaOM Network includes 7 news websites: GigaOM, NewTeeVee, WebWorkerDaily, Earth2Tech, OStatic, jkOnTheRun and TheAppleBlog. I focus on developing the GigaOM Network's events and conferences, creating marketing programs and managing media partnerships.
Past events I have produced include the sold-out NewTeeVee Live 07 (http://events.newteevee.com/live/07/), Structure 08 (http://structureconf.com) and Mobilize (http://mobilizeconf.com) conferences in addition to the popular NewTeeVee Pier Screenings series (http://screenings.newteevee.com)
I have experience with both startups and Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries. Prior to GigaOM, I held marketing positions with Juniper Networks, Extensity and Headlight.com. My tech industry experience is coupled with knowledge of the Life Sciences industry. I was selected for the Leadership Development Program (only 45 selected nationwide) at Johnson & Johnson and served as a management consultant to top 10 pharmaceutical and biotech companies through Strategic Decisions Group.
Feel free to contact me if you're interested in working with GigaOM on advertising or partnerships.
