News Editor (KSAT.com) at Internet Broadcasting
San Antonio, Texas Area
(Privately Held; 201-500 employees; Online Media industry)
November 2007 — Present (1 year 9 months)
I write and edit stories and photos and edit video linearly for posting on our Web site. I keep the Web site updated throughout the evening with stories geared toward our market, including live video streaming and Webcast productions.
I am charged with using my print/online writing skills to convert material previously broadcast and produced for television into a clean, easy-to-read Web format.
I am an author of the Web site's new blog titled "Broken News," which centers on Web culture and news, but also focuses on information relating to our main audience.
I solicit ideas from staff and viewers to increase the Web site's popularity and usefulness of our blog. I also generate ideas that will produce similar results.
In my job, I use an internal content management system, Photoshop, Vegas, Premiere, Audacity and Wordpress.
