Joseph MacQuarrie’s Summary

After moving to New York from Boston, Joe established himself in the Post Production Industry as an independant contractor. After ten years built solely on reputation, (He still doesn't need a business card) Joe's been fortunate enough to see much of the world, and to work on nearly every type of Video/Film Project. He's provided editing support on projects ranging from big-budget commercials, to feature films and documentaries; from reality tv, to massive digital newsrooms and international broadcasts like the Olympics and Miss Universe.

The last few years while still providing technical assistance to editing clients in Manhattan, Joe has also become an official trainer of Avid shared storage solutions.

After training hundreds of Avid technicains over the years on Avid's Unity product, Joe was fortunate enough to become involved with Avid Europe's "Big Picture" site's - massive news facilities using Avid ISIS (Infinitely Scalable Intelligent Storage) which currently can be expanded to up to 192 terabytes of storage and Interplay, Avid's Asset management system.

What's next?

Embracing New Media. Joe has a desire to utilize the skills he has acquired in assisting traditional content providers, by proactively embracing the emerging appetite for video on the web. Through the trusted relationships he has built over the years, Joe is a potential conduit between software companies and clients that want to advertise and monetize their content on the web.

While earning his Masters and learning to edit video using tape machines, Joe learned of Avid Technology a pioneer of editing video using software. Joe fought hard for an internship, and now over ten years later he has travelled the world supporting their products.

Actor. Wrote, directed, produced, and acted in documentary, “Work in Progress.” Two year member Emerson’s Graduate Comedy troupe, "Not in the Face." Acted in several independent films and corporate video’s. Would like to produce and direct my screenplay.
