I can talk business and strategy on even terms with businesspeople and strategists, and technology on even terms with the technologists. Translation plus effective management and facilitation = the right structure, working toward the right goals, on the right project.

How does a new B2B product carve out a unique, viable, and respected niche against a crowded field of larger incumbents, in an innately conservative industry? Know your market, and look outward before looking inward. Define your niche, and brand. Know, and stick to, your strategy. Understand and apply pricing methods. Then deliver.
The magazine is now a profitable, respected and requested B2B source in the industry, and in governments around the globe.
The Editor-in-Chief needs to draw on expertise that includes product management, defense tech, geopolitical analysis, project management, organizational behavior & management, leadership of virtual teams, internet strategy, and pricing, in order to keep all of this humming - and growing.

See summary. My main client at present is Defense Industry Daily, and that is a full-time endeavor, but I continue to consult for other clients within my areas of expertise, including both industry analysis of the security sector and work outside of the field I report on.
Work over the years has also included a number of strategic and technical engagements in the online, e-learning, information technology, corporate communications, and project management spaces.

Client engagements generally revolved around developing new online products or new ventures: they included defining business planning & strategy, corporate structure for new ventures, IT architecture and development roadmaps, presentations to corporate senior management teams, et. al. Clients ranged from start-ups (incl. NewMindsets.com, Centrsource.com) to large entities like telecom firms and foreign governments.
Innovator within the firm, working at the junction of strategy and technology with the Digital Strategy & E-Integration groups. Also involved in or initiated a number of internal BearingPoint initiatives, from SMART project management to improved recruiting, knowledge management and corporate training, better alliance relationships, and a corporate newsletter that acted as the firm-wide resource on e-business strategy and trends.

Consultant specializing in knowledge management, I.T., and doing business on the Internet. Worked for a range of clients, and extended my previous intranet role by pioneering the firm's use of the web as an extranet tool to win client business and manage projects.
Projects included a successful integrated website and permission marketing application for a major retailer, a supply chain process improvement knowledge base for a major consumer firm, business plan and strategy for a telco wishing to offer internet services, et. al.

The Center for Business Knowledge delivers the strategy & infrastructure required to leverage and distribute the combined knowledge of the firm, making it accessible to each consultant, auditor, and tax professional. This is achieved through a combination of software modules, library resources, external services, and practitioner consultants with formal roles in the knowledge network.
Thought leader within the Canadian firm; as part of my tenure, I also led a team that built the firm's first intranet, based on my analysis of underserved front-line needs. Despite its simplicity and low cost, it met those needs, and soon became a critical resource for the firm's auditors and consultants alike.
