I work for the Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center (MO PTAC), a cooperative initiative of University of Missouri Extension and the US Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). I assist small businesses, especially minority-owned, women-owned, and disabled veteran-owned companies, in marketing their products and services to government agencies and ultimately getting government contracts.

This was an amazing experience! Among other things, I got to see the Kalahari Desert, Fish River Canyon, and other amazing sites of the natural world during Spring Break -- which, of course, was at the end of September! I also took classes, some pretty basic but at least one of which was pretty eye-opening -- a class on the relationship between South Africa and its neighbors in Southern Africa, particularly the tensions of the 1970s and 1980s.
