Joanna Tanger’s Summary
I graduated from Bard College in 2007 with a degree in Liberal Arts, and a concentration in Cultural Anthropology. I lived in Prague, Czech Republic after graduating from college, where I received my TEFL certificate and taught for Skrivanek, the largest language agency in the Czech Republic. I love learning about different cultures, languages and places, and pushing my limits. I'd like to go back to school for my Master's in either International Education or Graphic Design. I blended my love of style and women's issues by creating a website for young women called Hip Chick Zine. http://www.hipchickzine.net
I recently hosted a fashion show for HCZ with an up-and-coming designer based out of Hong Kong. I worked with Weleda beauty, LUSH Cosmetics, Chronicle Books, Workman Publishing, Eat More Kale, etc. to get door prizes, raffles, and free samples for the show, which was written up on MediaBistro.com, and featured in Vermont's Burlington-based weekly newspaper, "Seven Days."
I'm very self-motivated, work well with others and I'm not afraid of challenges. My sense of adventure is clear by the fact that I moved to Prague without knowing anyone and with no knowledge of the language. I'm a well-rounded individual with many distinct interests and a real thirst for knowledge!
