Joana was born in Lisbon Portugal and after graduating in Pharmacology from King’s College London embarked on a career in the music industry, from international promotions to A&R and finally settling in events production.
Founding member of Lumin, which is a London, based independent production company. She specialised in sound led projects combining various art forms. Previous projects include the Ether Festival at South Bank, Shhh! Goes digital at the V&A, Hayward Nights, 555, Faster Than Sound part of Aldeburgh Festival and many more. She has recently concluded a Wellcome Trust funded fellowship on Arts Leadership and is practicing her research in the immersive play. Joana is also the Culture Tutor for the Industrial Design Engineering Department at the Royal College of Art. She is an advisor for the PRS Foundation and SPMN.
