I am currently the Tech Lead / Architect for the Auctions department of Overstock.com. I have been at Overstock for a little over a year. I started as a developer on the Auctions team a week or two after it launched, moved onto a DBA/Developer type of role while heading up development of an external facing API for the B2C side of the business and have recently taken the lead roll. I also continue to lead development of the B2C API.
Prior to coming to Overstock I consulted with various companies in both technical and sales roles. I started down this path as a consultant with Lucid Tech Solutions, LLC while finishing my bachelors.
My career goals are relatively simple: I want to do good work and solve interesting problems. I have a unique interest in utilizing the current state of the art from academia to solve vexing, real-world problems.
My commercial experience is mostly in web development, utilizing everything from Java to C/C++ as well as PHP/MySQL. I also have extensive Oracle experience, both with 9i and 10g RAC and have a knack for SQL-tuning. My biggest asset is adaptability and the ability to learn new technologies and languages in a short time frame.
