    Mentored team of Flex developers in the creation of Flash UI for hand held medical devices. The Flex applications where hosted on hand held devices which included bar code scanners. The applications allowed nurses to input patient information as well as review historical data of the patient.

    The main purpose of this contract was to provide direction and best practices to the staff in the form of documentation, “think-tank” meetings and training sessions. The goal was to provide direction for future Flex development projects that the McKesson development and engineering staff would utilize for future commercial products.

    Working alongside with students from MIT, we prototyped two applications that are based of social networking and budgeting. The project had many moving parts with iPhone application(s), Flex developed interfaces and HTML/Javascript with Django providing RESTful services and business integration. My duties were to develop a full standalone Flex interface that could be used with the Adobe Air as well as being served through HTTP request through all publicly available web browsers. I also developed with Flex a utility that for displaying graphs for the HTML version of the application. All data was provided to the Flex components through JSON format RESTful services via the Django (Python) built framework. The framework that was used to developed the Flex application on was PureMVC.

The application enabled clients to upload raw digital video in order to have it transcoded into multiple formats of video/audio media. Users of the application were able to view and moderate video streams, modify metadata information and view usage reports by account. The application relied on services that were provided by a J2EE application hosted with a Apache Tomcat server. The framework used for development of the application was Cairngorm.

System utilized VXML that was generated by a ColdFusion application server and database interaction. Final duties include an architecture role responsible for designing, documentation and research for new and existing infrastructure needs of the company.
