Transformation Coach at Oregon Department of Human Services
Corvallis, Oregon Area
In February 2009, John left a position with technology leader Hewlett-Packard where he worked for 13 years in the technical training function. At HP, John began by creating end-user training for an SAP project. Promoted to Engineer Training, John led entry-level and mastery-level training for thermal inkjet engineers designing inkjet printers. His last position as Learning Program Manager in HP's Center of Expertise for Technical Development -- gave him training responsibility for global supply chain, business process management, innovation, problem solving and decision making.
Now, he is embarking on a new adventure in state government. Calling upon his experience working with for-profit corporations, not-for-profit Boards of Directors and his personal thirst for learning and sharing, John starts June 15 as a Transformation Coach with the Oregon Department of Human Services. The following week he begins teaching two sections of Business Strategy for Oregon State University as adjunct professor.
John's background includes a broad range of experiences in Human Resources, working more than 28 years in high tech, health care, insurance, wholesale, retail and manufacturing. He has worked as an independent consultant and was educated as an MBA. He is active in his community promoting bicycle safety, arts and high school athletics. John is the proud father of two children -- Jessie who works in marketing for Microsoft and Scott who is currently traveling through the Mid-West on his motorcycle.
