J. Kim Scholes is the Vice President of Human Resources for Network Communications, Inc., in Atlanta, Georgia, the publisher of The Real Estate Book, Apartment Finder, and numerous luxury design magazines nationwide which include Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles and Atlanta Home Improvement, promoted from Director after ten months. A certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Kim possesses an extensive background in human relations for both the public and private sectors, having previously held progressively-responsible positions for the Department of Defense/Army, the U.S. General Services Administration, Sportslife/Crunch Fitness/Bally's International, Fitzgerald+Co/McCann-Erickson, and for the Southeast Regional Headquarters of Cingular Wireless. Although she considers herself a generalist with HR operations and merger/acquisitions expertise, she is a subject matter expert in HR operations and employee and labor relations with particular emphasis in facilitating automated disciplinary action and alternative dispute resolution. Kim has successfully consulted with and trained bargaining and non-bargaining unit employees, supervisors, managers and senior executives within the defense and telecommunications branches of the federal government, including implementing change management during a critical period of reorganization due to national reinvention initiatives. She has also completed merger/integration projects by developing a double-digit, multi-million dollar budget, facilitating change management, maintaining policy oversight, and providing guidance on national/regional employment issues for her previous employer, and acted as an employee advocate for workforces comprised of diverse occupations.

Kim has been recently selected for the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2009, and was awarded the Junior League of Atlanta, Inc. 2007 90th Anniversary President’s Award for exemplifying the true spirit of dedication, commitment, and service to both the organization and to the President. She has also been recognized as a 1997 UT College of Human Ecology Centennial Leader, a United Way VIP member, a Delta Delta Delta Atlanta Alumnae Chapter Woman of the Year, and a 1996 Olympic Games Rehearsal Team Placard Bearer for the country of Andorra. Kim is also a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and has received a Cingular Wireless Key Contributor Award, the federal Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, and was selected as a PAC Outstanding Scholar Intern for the Department of Defense/Army in both the Computer Programming and Personnel Management Journeyman Individual Development Program Curricula.
