Jillian K. Aurrichio’s Summary
Jillian came to James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia in August, 2004. In her first year, Jillian declared a Communication Studies major with a focus in Public Relations and a Foreign Language Minor with a focus in Italian. She was an honored member of the Dean's List in Spring, 2006 and Fall, 2006.
Jillian was accepted into the study abroad program in Florence, Italy for the fall, 2006 semester. While abroad, Jillian acted as the Assistant Coordinator to the Head Director of the study abroad program. Taking full advantage of the opportunity to be in Europe, Jillian was able to see parts of France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Italy. From this experience, Jillian learned how to effectively organize complex travel arrangements and create detailed travel itineraries. Also, she gained international communication skills as a direct result of living within different cultures for an extended period of time.
Upon her return from Italy, Jillian declared Foreign Language, focusing in Italian, as a second major; this made her a double major in Foreign Language and Communication Studies.
Jillian completed her coursework at JMU after four years and received a Bachelor of Arts in both Communication Studies and Foreign Language. Upon her return to New York, she started her career at Adam Young Broadcasting. Originally the receptionist, Jillian was promoted to Executive Assistant to as few as two and as many as five executives at the corporation. Due to the company filing Chapter 11, she took a brief hiatus from the corporate world.
Currently, Jillian is ready to get back to business and has begun searching for a job in public relations.
