Director, Interactive Technologies at DC Interactive Group
Greater Chicago Area
My passion for marketing using new technologies -- especially the web, e-mail, mobile and social aspects -- drives me to innovate new and creative strategies for my clients, as well as business opportunities for my firm. I'm an avid blogger and fan of using promotion and advocacy to bring awareness and enhance brands.
I've been doing more and more public speaking and look for opportunities to educate clients and others on breakthrough marketing concepts. I'm active in professional organizations and always seeking networking opportunities.
I have a unique perspective on web-, Internet- and mobile-marketing that I'm open to sharing to my peers, members of the online marketing community and prospective and existing clients.
(Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Marketing and Advertising industry)
July 2002 — Present (7 years 5 months)
As the Director of Interactive Technologies at DC Interactive, my job is to lead the company in devising unique and creative marketing strategies that I can bring to my clients, giving them a positive competitive advantage.
I champion new technologies such as social, permission and lifecycle marketing and while I may seem up on the newest going-on's on the 'web, I find that there are always new tools, strategies and ways to communicate (it seems, every day!).

October 2000 — May 2002 (1 year 8 months)
One of Chicagoland's advertising agencies specializing in homebuilding, hospitality and other consumer-oriented industries. My stint there included managing a small interactive department and acting as a project manager.
(Privately Held; 1-10 employees; Graphic Design industry)
March 1999 — September 2000 (1 year 7 months)
My responsibilities included the planning, creation and maintenance of web sites and other online advertising for many industries including consumer goods, manufacturing and healthcare.
(Privately Held; 1-10 employees; Publishing industry)
October 1996 — February 1999 (2 years 5 months)
I oversaw the printing of this small trade publisher's publications and also created and promoted an online presence for them (at a time when the 'web was very, very primitive).
(Sole Proprietorship; 1-10 employees; Design industry)
October 1994 — September 1996 (2 years )
This was my first foray into advertising. As sole owner, I wore many hats, including account executive, copywriter, creative director, designer and even delivery man! A great experience, but I'd never run my own company again!
(Public Company; 10,001 or more employees; Telecommunications industry)
January 1988 — September 1994 (6 years 9 months)
Through various positions I was responsible for overall customer satisfaction, collection of accounts receivable and project management of early cellular network contracts.
B.S. , Finance , 1983 — 1987
I'm into blogging (like obsessively -- is three too many? four? five?), networking, spreading the mantra of web marketing and the need to embrace technology to your competitive advantage, and generally pestering clients and prospects alike with the Next Great Idea. When I'm not working (when's that again?!), I am very active in Freemasonry and all of it's allied organizations, I enjoy cooking and reading, go fly fishing (occasionally, though never enough), travel the obscure corners of North America in our Airstream (yes, giant balls of twine, museums devoted to mustard and tubas, and enormous fiberglass statues of Midas Men, the Jolly Green Giant and jackalopes). Oh, I also can mix about any martini you can name and quite a few you've never heard of!

None yet, but you can bet they're coming!
