The National Cancer Institute at Frederick (NCI at Frederick) is a composite of Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, NCI Center for Cancer Research (CCR) intramural labs that comprise almost half of CCR's Principal Investigators, several other NCI divisional programs and the NCI Campus at Frederick. The facilities also host and support several programs of the National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the NCI at Frederick is is a founding partner of the National Interagency Confederation for Biological Research (NICBR).

Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), functions as a Government Owned Contractor Operated (GOCO) facility, and is the only National Laboratory of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Computer & Statistical Services (C&SS) is responsible for providing a wide array of information science related services to the diverse community of researchers from the NCI, Frederick National Laboratory and NIAID. C&SS is one of two peer contracts that provide service and support to, and operate these facilities for, the Department of Health and Human Services.
