    I worked for Versata for 5 years in a variety of roles from consulting through to Product Mangement. I was Managing Director for 2.5 years, in which time the European Business was both profitable and achieved sales target quota. As Managing Director I was responsible for sales and operations for the UK, Benelux and New York Regions. This included budget and P&L responsibility,

    I was jointly responsible, with Mike Harrison, for Versata's single largest ever software deal, for the UK's largest Telco provider, which was for over $10 million.

    Within this role, I was responsible for all technical sales & pre-sales teams, the Network team and a small in-house development group

    I was commercially and technically responsible for largest ever services revenue deal that involved the relocation of a major European pharmaceutical company to Watford, Herts.

    CCl-Menzies were bought by The Technology Services Group (www.TSG.com) in 2006.

    I formed and managed JDL systems which grew to have 8 staff within the course of 1 year. JDL specialised in:

    - Cross site electronic Cash and Stock system which I wrote and implemented on IBM hardware.

    - A Specialised embedded Portable Data Capture System for the Health and Safety Industry called FELMS (Fire Equipment Location Management System) which was written in embedded C on Symbol hardware.

    - An online 3 tier photo database management system for the oil construction industry.

    Turnover grew to over £1 million in the first year and I sold the product IP of the company.

    Strawberry Hill Enterprises functioned as the the commercial arm of the University of Surrey

    • Responsible for specific Project related implementations and also for the development and administration of an IT network for over 100 people, which included supervision of 8 staff.

    • The network was heterogeneous, with Windows NT, Novell Netware, and Solaris Servers

    • Architected and managed a cross site fibre optic backbone and installation of a digital telephony switch to service 2000 digital phones.

    • implemented card based secure door access system in which utilised wireless and embedded FTP technologies

    • Co-wrote and managed implementation of 3 tier Conferencing system written in Delphi and using Borland MIDAS technology

    • Wrote and managed a staff details system in a Unix 4GL tool called Recital which ran on a Dec Unix System 540
