  When it comes to making professional connections, Jim Browning considers LinkedIn — which boasts 90 million users — to be a key tool. Browning, who spent 32 years with The Coca-Cola Co. before becoming an expert in the use of LinkedIn, uses the business-focused site to find business clients in his role as a North American licensee for people development company Lifestyle Architecture and global distributor of BestWork DATA assessments. Facebook, he adds, is also gaining strength in the business arena, particularly with the recent addition of a tool called BranchOut that connects people with individuals who work and live around them.
  
  “It’s a great research tool, it’s a great information tool and networking tool, but it’s not the only answer. You still need to do the traditional search and cold calls, but what LinkedIn and other social media does for you is turns that cold call into one call because you already know so much about the individual,” he said.
  
  Browning suggests using all social media platforms. With several different Twitter accounts and close to 30,000 followers, Browning
  focuses the information on each of his accounts differently and, as a result, reaches a variety of different audiences.
  
  “You can’t determine which one is going to get you a lead in business,” Browning said. “Do them all, but do them all realistically.”
