During this time I become involved with Aboriginal artists from Western Cape York and worked on three art exhibitions that were bought to Sydney from the region. Between 1996 an 2000 I lived and traveled in Asia, Europe and Australia. Since 2000 I have lived in the north east of Sweden. I have studied web design, Swedish language (proficient speaker), pedagogy, English linguistics, Cultural studies, English literature, experience and interactive design, digital humanities and computer programing. I have been working with online virtual worlds since 2003, mainly with ActiveWorlds, Adobe Atmosphere and Second Life. I have designed and built spaces in these virtual environments as well as using them for teaching.I have extensive experience in web publishing, digital literacy, online media and network cultures.
Goals:
I see myself as bridging academic research and development with community cultural production. I wish to be involved in projects that work between the academy and the community. Working with art that delivers socially relevant messages and provides inspiration and education for broad sections of society. Globalization is of particular interest to me and I see my work as addressing issues within its structures.
