Formally taking the leadership role of MMPG in March 2006, I worked to grow the team's staff and broaden the number of projects it supported. I provided software subsystems into key Symbian phone projects, that were built by my team. We also provided support for subsystems developed by Symbian's operating system group.

Joining Symbian's Licencee Product Development group (LPD), I was one of the three original members of their new Multimedia Porting Group (MMPG). A team of specialists within LPD, we were part of the projects shipping the first Symbian OS v9 phones. I provided architectural advice, requirements analysis and a point of contact for all multimedia technical issues to the projects I worked on.

Based in Fremont, CA I was a member of the development team for the DVDExpress DVD playback software. I was responsible for the streaming software; maintaining DirectShow filters; designing plugin systems for third party vendors, and working with the Microsoft DirectShow development team. During this period, Mediamatics was acquired by National Semiconductor, becoming a wholly owned subsidiary.
