Chief Strategy Officer at Vovici Corporation
Greater Boston Area
I was a consultant with BIS Strategic Decisions (now part of Forrester Research) from 1987-1994, providing market-research and strategic-planning consulting to high technology firms including Apple, IBM and Canon, as well as bygones like Compaq, DEC, AST Research and Packard Bell.
In 1993 I co-founded Perseus Development Corporation with Rich Nadler to deliver "Customer Satisfaction in a Box", automating market research through software applications. In 1997, we launched the first dedicated web-survey software product, Perseus SurveySolutions, which won the PC Magazine Editors' Choice award in 2000. With 300 competitors nipping at our heels, we re-invented the market in 2004, coining the term Enterprise Feedback Management (EFM) to describe systematic, organization-wide leveraging of attitudinal data. The term was adopted by Gartner in 2005.
In 2006, we sold Perseus to Austin Ventures, which purchased WebSurveyor and merged the two companies into Vovici Corporation. At Vovici, my goals are to popularize the concept of EFM and to grow Vovoci into one of the 200 largest software firms (we are already in the top 500).

- Leading and growing the software development organization
- Product management
- Managing the support, services and training organizations
- Overseeing marketing during the critical period when we repositioned the company from the shrinkwrapped software space to the enterprise software market
- Leading the team that coined the term Enterprise Feedback Management, which was subsequently adopted by Gartner and a dozen competitors
In 2006, my partner and I sold the company to Austin Ventures.
