I'm a kitchen and bath designer in Tampa, FL, and a nationally-published design journalist. My design specialties include open plan design, aging-in-place/universal design and kosher kitchens. I write about these topics, as well as other areas of design, architecture and remodeling that catch my interest and, hopefully, my readers', too!
My articles have been published in the St. Pete Times, Woman's Day Kitchens & Baths, Fine Homebuilding, Kitchen & Bath Ideas.com, Glam.com, Signature Kitchens & Baths and many others. I'm also a regular design writer for the Tampa Tribune's Flair Magazine, (www.tampaflair.com).
Before my midlife career change, I spent two-plus decades in media and marketing. I even earned a Master's from the Annenberg School in Communication Management before I "threw it all away," as my brother put it. (No, knowledge and experience are never wasted commodities, bro.) I felt I'd be happier pursuing a new, more creative path and I was right. I love serving both my clients and my readers.
I started at the Big Orange Box -- aka The Home Depot -- because I knew I'd gain both on-the-job and paid classroom training there. Two and a half years and an NKBA certification later, I'd gained the core knowledge and experience I needed and moved into a more challenging design role at a members-only showroom.
The pace there was excrutiating -- eight new projects a week, many of them whole house/custom cabinetry assignments -- but more great on-the-job experience. That job was as intense as my last Fortune 500 management job at Gannett, but a ton more fun and far less bureaucratic.
So now I'm enjoying work, family and life. Midlife is very good indeed!

I work with homeowners, builders, contractors and cabinet dealers who want great kitchens, baths, home offices and other built-ins. I work with semi-custom and custom cabinets from top-rated companies, and with countertop and cabinet installation partners who have proven themselves on hundreds of past projects.
