Joe Famme’s Summary
My name's Joe and I've been an SQA Engineer since 1992. I got my start at WordPerfect (Now Corel). I then did a contract at Intel working on the Video Phone team -- that was fun. After that contract ended I transitioned to a startup company called eFusion. There we worked with Internet technologies to voice-enable your website and also a client for providing Internet Call-Waiting for those people with only one phone line. eFusion was eventually bought-out by a company named ITXC...which then let us all go within the following year and dissolved the company.
After ITXC, and a few months of being out of work...9/11...etc...I took a position at another startup called Secure Resolutions. Again, working with Internet technologies...to help IT Admins distribute and monitor software on their network.
I then worked on contract, through TEKsystems, at OCP.org, where I led the QA effort for their newest liturgy website, Liturgy.com.
I finally got a fulltime gig again at Extensis, Inc., in downtown Portland, working on their Digital Asset Manager "Portfolio" for about a year and a half.
I now do SQA for Sage Software, working on their Timberline Office software in Beaverton.
