An analyst by nature, my doctoral research interests include (in no particular order) data+metadata transfer systems and structures, networked information, preservation data grids, the OAI-PMH, digital preservation, project and people management, the effects of technology on people, mark-up languages, information+web design, system and information processes, and digital libraries.

I am looking to supplement my doctoral student stipend with small projects based on my prior experience in data communications and systems development. NARA Research Prototype Persistent Archive Extension: June 2007 to present. NSF funded joint project between UNC-CH, NARA, and SDSC. Coordinated project to integrate DDI metadata into the iRODS iCAT and advised on the OAI-PMH. Analyzed DCMES and DDI metadata quality and content for the Odum Institute. Tested implementation of OAI-PMH DP and SP. Analyzed and reported results.
Digital Curation and Trusted Repositories Project: August 2006 to May 2007. Research and write requirements for ingest survey for pilot institutional repository. Interview and engage librarians and faculty. Analyze results and develop requirements and processes for ingest of each collection into the institutional repository. Write up and present results of research and application of survey instrument.
