wlan slovenia (formerly wlan ljubljana) is a Slovenian community project consisting of wireless technology enthusiasts aiming to deploy an open wireless mesh network along the country of Slovenia.
In cooperation with other members of the project, I have developed a Python-based network planning, deployment and monitoring system nicknamed the nodewatcher that enables a complete overview and management of our mesh nodes. I have also started our own router firmware development (based on OpenWrt) that enables plug-and-mesh behaviour with zero configuration. In the course of the project I have gained many experiences with IP routing protocols such as OLSR, the Linux network stack and network architecture in general.
