Jeremy Head’s Summary
I'm currently working as Travel Editor for Search and Social Media web-company iCrossing. In this role I'm commissioning top travel writers to create unique content for large travel clients like Virgin Holidays, bmi, Thistle hotels, Thomson and First Choice. The content we develop is optimised for search (ie it ranks well on Google) but it's also written for the reader - genuninely useful and inspiring stuff.
Prior to joining iCrossing I was an award-winning travel writer, photographer and broadcaster writing freelance travel features for seven years. I wrote regularly for The Daily Mail and independent travel magazine Wanderlust. My travel writing has also appeared in The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Mail and industry newspaper Travel Weekly. I also wrote and photographed the new Frommer's Day by Day guidebook to Seville. Frommer's is the USA's biggest travel publisher.
I also did short stints presenting undercover reports for ITV's Holidays Undercover - prime time TV on a Tuesday evening and I also appeared as a guidebook 'expert' on Channel 5's the Hotel Inspector.
I also chair/host travel publishing seminars and debates, recently hosting a Bookseller debate: Have Guidebook Will Travel: The Future of Travel Publishing
I was formerly Travel Editor for Independent Magazines, writing weekly travel features and news for their weekly titles: Girl About Town, Ms London, 9-5, Midweek, London and More and Living Abroad Magazine (LAM).
I'm available to chair debates/seminars to speak about travel writing and also as a copywriter. I started life as a marketing manager for American Express and a Financial Services marketing consultant, so I combine creative writing skills with a solid grounding in the basics of marketing.
