Jeremy Ames joined EPA's Indoor Environments program in 2004 as a Presidential Management Fellow. He received the 2005 Office of Radiation and Indoor Air Director’s award for the development of new performance measures for the radon, schools, and asthma voluntary programs. As a member of the Radon Team, Jeremy's current responsibilities include developing strategies for the Radon Leaders Saving Lives campaign with EPA's state and industry partners, www.radonleaders.org. Jeremy recently created the Test, Fix, Save a Life contest, an online video contest and the first of its kind in the federal government, which led to the creation of over 30 video Public Service Announcements on the dangers or radon. In addition, Jeremy leads the Community Leaders Training initiative, which assists communities in designing effective environmental campaigns, http://www.epa.gov/clt/.
In Jeremy's previous position with the Environmental and Energy Study Institute, he led the Agriculture and Bioenergy program. He authored policy reports and magazine articles, organized Congressional briefings, and addressed national and regional conferences on bioenergy policy issues. He worked with agricultural and clean energy stakeholders to develop recommendations which became part of the 2002 Farm Bill Energy Title.
Jeremy has a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University.
