I serve on our executive management team, working with my colleagues and CEO to develop and execute overall business strategy.

I'm responsible for accounting, insurance, human resources, benefits, and facilities administration (my initial duties with the company as Controller, detailed below). Additionally, I have an active role in our marketing efforts.

I manage public-relations strategy, coordinate our trade show presence, and develop and place advertising and sponsorships. I write and edit marketing collateral, Web site copy, and white papers.

I'm gratified to have launched our annual RoundUp Users Conference. I manage speaker and exhibitor selection, programming, venue selection, Web site development, advertising, and on-site coordination.

Chandelle Flying Club is an equity-based club whose mission is to provide its shareholders the most convenient and affordable flying possible. Founded in 1981, the club owns three four-seat, single-engine airplanes and has 28 members.

In 2003, we expanded from two airplanes and 20 members to our current configuration. I spearheaded that change and today still handle all marketing, recruitment, and new-member inductions.

I also conduct aircraft research and financial analysis; negotiate and administer insurance policies, leases and other contracts; maintain corporate records; author internal reports and Web site copy; and coordinate club events.

Currently, I'm acting as our social media editor, driving our presence on Twitter, Facebook, and other new media sites.

I've also served as copy editor, research editor, news editor, news reporter, columnist, developmental editor, special-projects coordinator, and acting senior editor. Along with the rest of our small staff, I still do much of that every week.

I'm particularly proud of leading our work in the search for downed aviator Steve Fossett, during which over 50,000 people took part in an online search of digital satellite imagery using the Amazon Mechanical Turk service and Google Earth.

The Texas Aviation Association is a non-profit organization whose goal is to preserve and protect Texas airports and to advance public understanding of general aviation.

I was active in several advocacy actions, including campaigns to preserve Robert Mueller Municipal Airport and to preserve or create general aviation services at Austin Bergstrom International Airport.

I researched current law and precedents; surveyed the aviation community about the impact of legislation; rallied and organized pilot support; liasoned with pilot associations; lobbied local, state and national legislators; and prepared written responses to governmental entities.

I also kept our membership informed as Editor in Chief of the association's newsletter, The Texas Flyer.
