Jennifer Stathos’s Summary

As the owner and director of her own swim school business, Jennifer Stathos brings her years of experience as a competitive swimmer and all-around athlete to every class she teaches. Jennifer began competitive swimming at age six, and she went on to win high point and/or MVP in every age group. In high school, she held many records and won a gold medal in every event in the High School Meet of Champions. To wit, she was the MVP of her High School Varsity Water Polo Team and won "All-Tourney" as a high school basketball player. Sacramento, California-resident Jennifer Stathos began working as a swim instructor when she was 16.

Initially, she started to attract customers by designing flyers that highlighted her years of experience as a competitive swimmer, her swimming records and awards, as well as her training in teaching swimming. Jennifer distributed her fliers to local elementary schools, and the response was immediate. Word of mouth quickly replaced the fliers, and Jennifer began making a wait list to register swimmers because the initial list filled up so quickly on registration day. Jennifer works very hard to group her students accurately by age and ability level and to devise daily lesson plans with stated objectives. During the summer, she is in the water most of each weekday, teaching 30-minute group lessons back-to-back.

Jennifer’s communications studies have taught her the importance of public relations, and she maintains communication with both her students and their parents. In addition, she maintains a clean pool that is well heated, so her students remain safe and comfortable. In her spare time, Jennifer Stathos enjoys reading, writing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and spending time with her family.
