Responsibilities: HR stategery and stuff.
* Led all aspects of the people strategy and was a key member of the Executive Team brought in for the purpose of a financial and cultural turnaround that resulted in 25% sales and 56% earnings growth and the subsequent sale of the company to The Jarden Corporation (JAH) in June 2004.
* Developed and implemented a new Performance Management system and trained managers on coaching and developing Key employees as well as poor performers.
* Implemented an improved employee benefits program and design that reduced expenses by 17.3% after one year of implementation and an additional a 16.1% after two - during a period of double digit increases in health care costs within the industry.
* Redesigned the Human Resources function and approach to a "Business Partner" model. Results included increased development of training programs, improved coaching and development and improvement in time to hire.

Responsibilities: Hiring, firing, motivating and inspiring at least one person each and every day.
* Developed and implemented recruiting strategies to staff the start-up of a second facility/new line of business which increased total employment by 136% in 2 years.
* Reduced turnover 62% through development and implementation of an in-depth New Hire Orientation and Onboarding Program, improvements in working conditions, and regular feedback and follow up meetings with employee groups to address causes of turnover.
* Developed and implemented changes to the Employee Suggestion Program that resulted in increased employee participation (to 90%) and a 171% increase in the number of suggestions per employee (to 11.95 per person) annually.
* Increased the number of Continuous Improvement Teams from 21 to 91 annually through implementation of training, recognition and coaching. Facilitated several cross-functional problem-solving teams including five Ohio Manufacturing Association state finalists, and winners of the 1998 Honda America Supplier Team Award and 1999 Ohio Governor's Award for Team Excellence in Manufacturing.
