IT teacher experience includes instructing grades 6-10 using the design cycle and the IBO Middle Years Program (MYP) Technology curriculum. Current units of instruction include digital movie making (Windows MovieMaker and iMovie), web design (open source Kompozer software), animation and computer programming (open source Scratch software), digital audio recording and editing (Audacity and Garageband), and publication (Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 and Microsoft Publisher).
Technology coordinator experience includes creating technology-related professional development opportunities for teachers and teacher assistants, particularly in Web 2.0 tools; overseeing network support staff and network security; meeting regularly with administrative- and teacher-level technology committees; organizing annual technology requests, budgets, and purchases; and implementing Blackbaud administrative software.
Professional goal is to impact student learning and achievement through the role of technology teacher and/or coordinator.
