Jen Nedeau is a writer, social media consultant, progressive activist and feminist speaker. She currently lives in New York City where she works as the Director of Digital Strategy at Air America Media.
In addition to her full-time job, Nedeau pursues her passion for writing by serving as Editor of the Women’s Rights blog for Change.org where she facilitates daily discussion about the feminist movement as it relates to politics, technology and social norms.
Nedeau has given speeches about the state of the feminist movement and the evolution of social media in front of audiences at Netroots Nation, Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School, the Politics Online Conference, YWCA’s 150th Anniversary and many more locations.
Nedeau has been published by the likes of NewYorkTimes.com, Washingtonpost.com and Stateline.org and others. She has been a fellow at the Israel Embassy, worked on independent research for The Brookings Institution, and held several internships in places such as Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Congressional office and NBC 11 in San Francisco.
Nedeau learned the most about digital efforts while working for New Media Strategies where she employed online campaigns for Fortune 500 companies utilizing the power of social media to promote and protect clients. At NMS, she learned from some of the biggest brands in the world about how marketing, public relations and online platforms can influence international brands and bottom lines.
In her free time, Nedeau volunteers for New Leaders Council, a non-profit that offers exclusive training for young leaders, where she serves as the Chief Technology Officer and participates as a member of the local advisory board.
