Innovation Consultant for Education Technology Services

I am seeking a managerial position at a university that recognizes the important role web-based technology plays in today’s learning environment. The social and mobile affordances gained through this medium enable us to reach students in dynamic and powerful ways. Partnering a strong course management system as an anchor application along with an adaptable content management process is a critical success factor and an exciting opportunity that I enjoy being a part of.
I specialize in the identification, piloting, and implementation of new educational technologies.

If I was to describe in one sentence what exactly it is I do in my job it would be this, "I foster the adoption of new educational technologies through investigation, teaching and support." In other words, I help to identify the pedagogical advantages of specific technologies and work to help faculty incorporate them into their teaching repertoire.
In my role I am responsible for assisting faculty and staff with the adoption of ANGEL, Penn State’s Course Management System, through maintenance of the ANGEL Community Hub, management of pilot projects, faculty and staff support, and management of the Technology Learning Assistants (TLA) program. Additionally, I was the Program Chair for the 2008 Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) Symposium at Penn State. I am the chair for the 2009 and 2010 events.
