    • Performs enterprise security architecture analysis and design. This includes both leading and supporting the entire lifecycle of multiple engineering projects.
    • Serves as the technical lead for Legg Mason's Tivoli Access Manager for eBusiness (TAMeB) deployment. Designed and implemented a highly available, fault-tolerant, load balanced infrastructure composed of TAMeB, IBM WebSphere Application Servers (WAS), Tivoli Directory Integrator (TDI), and Citrix NetScaler load balancers.
    • Determines Legg Mason's business needs/requirements and designs and implements solutions that meets those goals at an clearly determined, and appropriately managed, level of risk. Reviews all proposed and current IT projects at Legg Mason for security impact and works with involved parties throughout the risk management process.
    • Develops custom programs and scripts as needed, using multiple technologies, including Unix shell, Perl, VBS, Windows PowerShell, C, C++, and C#.

    Jeff is currently an instructor in the Computer and Information Sciences Department. He has full responsibility for undergraduate computer science courses, including the selection of course topics and charting the evolution of courses to maintain their relevancy and coverage of new and emerging topics, design of the course syllabus, assigning laboratory and homework assignments, the creation of examinations, the grading of such assignments, and is the final authority on student performance. Mr. Six also supervises computer science graduate students, in their roles as teaching assistants.

    Jeff was selected for the Outstanding Supplemental Faculty Award in 2003, awarded to a non-tenure track CIS faculty member in recognition of teaching excellence, and the Global Citizenship Faculty Fellowship in 2006, awarded for helping students develop an international perspective to live and work effectively in an increasingly global society. He was the only non-full time faculty fellow.

    Jeff works for the Aquatics Department of the Columbia Association. He started employment as a lifeguard during December of 1993 and over the following years, served as a Head Lifeguard, Assistant Pool Manager, Pool Manager, Age Group Swim Coach, and a Lifeguarding Instructor & Training Supervisor. From 1996 through 1999, Jeff was certified as a Maryland Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A) and was a volunteer for the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services (DFRS) for a short time as well.

    Jeff holds licensure as an Ellis & Associates International Pool & Waterpark Lifeguard Instructor. He attended and completed the 2001 E&A National Aquatic Safety School (NASS), the premier water safety conference in the world. After a break starting in 2004, Jeff started teaching lifeguarding classes for CA again in 2005 and is currently a Senior Lifeguarding Instructor and Internal Auditor for Columbia Association; he is responsible for the training of over 250 lifeguards annually.
